About us

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to engage and educate people – especially the young – with the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) and the inspiring stories of the men and women who died whilst fighting in the two World Wars.

As we approach the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy, sign up to the CWGF's virtual fundraiser, Walking Our War Graves, to play your part to honour the legacy of those commemorated by the CWGC.

By taking part in Walking Our War Graves you will be supporting the CWGF in our aim to tell the stories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the two World Wars. Your support will help fund our projects including our Guides who provide tours at Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme and Tyne Cot Cemetery and Memorial, and our free online stories portal, For Evermore: Stories of the Fallen, where the public can share their memories and recollections of those commemorated by the CWGC.
